Between the ladies trying to find the perfectly shaped dress and the men searching for the right shade of tie, very rarely do we stop to think about the other preparations going on behind the scenes. The first step is deciding on a theme. Exec Board was torn between Masquerade, Halloween, and A Golden Night. After an intense voting session, Halloween came out on top. “It’s not the typical, tacky Halloween with cartoon character ghosts or pumpkins. It’s a more subtle portrayal of the holiday”, says Kayla Nelson, a senior in Exec. Nelson says that the color scheme is an array of black, orange, silver, purple, and gold. As for the decoration, there’ll be crooked trees, illuminating lanterns, and intricate cobwebs strategically placed around the ballroom. To answer the question that is on everyone’s mind, yes, the DJ will be the same as previous years. However, between the song suggestion list posted in the commons and the opportunity to give the playlist to the DJ earlier, us Hunters can be confident that we will have our requested songs playing this year. “Planning my last Fall Ball made senior year seem a little more real. Thanks to the bright ideas from fellow Exec members, I can strongly say that Fall Ball 2018 will be one to remember,” states Nelson with a grin on her face. So put on your dancing shoes and bust out those moves because this dance will be one that you do not want to miss.
