Rotten tomatoes is the most trusted measurement of quality entertainment. Movies and TV shows alike receive reviews from professional critics, offering the easiest guide to what’s new and what’s good to watch. On the website, there is a rating system called the tomatometer. Which is based on published opinions of hundred of movie and TV critics. The rating of the tomatometer is based on the percentage of positive reviews by these critics. A good review is denoted by a red tomato. The reading for a red tomato, on the tomatometer must be at least sixty percent (60%). A bad review is denoted by a rotten green tomato splat, meaning that the positive reviews were fifty-nine percent (59%) or less. In order to receive a Certified Fresh rating, a movie must have a steady rating of seventy-five percent (75%) or better. However if the tomatometer score drops below seventy percent (70%) then the Certified Fresh status will be lossed. In some cases, the Certified Fresh status may be held at the discretion of the Rotten Tomatoes editorial team. According to Rotten Tomatoes, these are the top ten movies, of all categories, of 2016.
